A Note from Norma
Prayer is not a strategy for occasional use or a refuge to resort to now and then. It is really like an established residence for your soul. All things have a home — a bird has a nest; a mouse has a hole; a bee has a hive. A soul without prayer is a soul without a home. Weary, sobbing, the soul, after struggling in a world festered with aimlessness, falsehoods and absurdities, needs a moment to gather up its scattered life and to call for help. Prayer is such a home.
I have been asked why I go to Temple. Many people I know do not go, do not seek a relationship with God or a home for their souls. I tell them that I want God to know me; I want to be sure to praise Him and to seek His presence in my life because I know that some day, when things are really bad and I am helpless, I will need to ask for His help and intervention. I don’t want God to hear my prayers and ask, “Do I know you?” Therefore, I need to be sure that He knows who I am. That is what prayer is all about!
Friday evening service, Please check our schedule of services below as we are currently operating on our summer schedule. Please join us this Friday starting at 7:30 pm.
